Currently I only have one thing in life to do.
However, almost everything is a distraction.
I should be applying for jobs as thoroughly as I possible can any place that might want to offer me a contract the problem is applying and looking for work is a tedious pain in the ass!
Top 5 things I'd rather be doing than applying for jobs, just to make a point (which actually became 8 things while I was writing, that's how busy I am) :
1. I Recently downloaded trials for everything Adobe has to offer. This includes everything I might have an inkling of understanding to start with. These are such heavy weight contenders like Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver just for starters. Each trial lasts only 30 days so for every moment I'm not using them I'm wasting the time I could spend making kickass graphics.
2. part of the problem with distraction 1. is that all this Adobe kit works a lot better when used in combination. So making kickass graphics takes an hour in photoshop, fine, I then need to spend 2 hours working out the application it works best with before the 30 days deadline expires. This is intense.
3. I'm excellent at drawing. If asked I would always rather be drawing. Especially when there's a competition on. Which I then don't have time to enter because this job thing.
4. I'm helping to set up an Art Community. Walls don't just paint themselves. There's going to be a lot of tedious stuff getting it up and running but this Spring, it should be great.
Feel free to donate any office furniture you have :)
5. It's my birthday soon. I'd like to go for dinner but I don't know if I have time. I've drawn out some invites but don't know whether they'll ever be used.
6. I need to make a more dynamic CV/ Resumé because I can't really push myself as an illlustrator with my currrently articulate but inherently dull slice of A4. It needs more kappow!
7. Lunch. and indeed tidying up the flat is always needed.
8. There are an incredible amount of links online addressing all my problems, but I just don't have time to read/ view/ listen to all of them.
I need an assistant. They could mix colours and prepare surfaces and the like...
I need to not need to be applying for jobs or have the pressure of needing to make full use of Adobe products.
I'm heading off. Enjoy your wednesday. I'll post updates about the art thing, it's going to be world changing.
I'm going to set priorites and ignore all jobs until I've fixed the urgent stuff.
